pilot light too big

My furnace pilot light is at least 1.5" What kind of difference will this make on my energy bill?

Whatever the cost factors... adjust the flame down some.

The pilot flame needs to fully envelope the end of a thermocouple /power pile and easily reach the burners crossover. I'd be cautious about turning it down unless you don't mind tinkering back and forth with the furnace reliability.
