Are you holding the pilot button down till the flame heats the sensor, this may take a full minute or more. If that doesn't work send a message that I can read with all the key words included.

thanks for your reply.
yes i hold it for more then minutes some time two minutes but as soon as i released the pilot button flame gone down. i tried few other things aswell. just holding button and swith high thermostate and switch on water and heater and continusely holding but as i realeased the button same thing happed. what i did today open it and clear the pilot pin and clean the other bit which next to that.

hi and if you can explain me, what is thermocouple? because i was reading some other thread which has got same problem and the mentioned about it so what do you think about

mikemy6 04-25-2007 02:01 PM

is the other bit a small piece of metal w/a small copper tube going to the pilot /gas control? If so you may be able to replace it if it has a nut holding it to the control valve.Shut the elec. and gas before you do anything! This is the thermocouple and must be replaced W/the same one it keeps the gas valve from opening with no pilot

real qwick its a sealed tube builds pressure as its heated this is what is sensed in the control if you loss the seal it wont work

ourmoney 04-25-2007 02:11 PM

is it the next to flame? when the pilot lit its become to red. are you talking about that bit? are you thinking is that solve this problem?
thanks.

ourmoney 04-25-2007 02:13 PM

yes now i understand. where can i get this bit?

called both and they both said they carry them just be careful on the install so you dont kink the new one

ourmoney 04-25-2007 03:14 PM

thanks mate
if you could make a call then it will be much appriciated. i opened again and i checked thermocouple, will i have to detatch the whole parts which looks like a copper pipe or just a that bit? if its just the bit then how?
thanks again.

mikemy6 04-25-2007 03:33 PM

it should be a very small copper tube looks like a coiled up wire where it goes into the control it should go thru the center of a nut about 1/4 to 3/8 inch the bit (bulb) side should only be held next to the pilot W/ a screw just note the position of the bulb upon removal cause you want it to go back in the same spot.dont rip out the metal hanger at the pilot
