pilot light does not stay lit


my luxaire furnace pilot light does not stay lit when i release the pliot button. how do i trouble shoot?

pilot light does not stay lit


There are basically two reasons

Pilot flame not strong enough to engulf the thermocopler to heat it .. Just need to clean the pilot assy

OR

The thermocople is weak and needs to be replaced..Most likely

pilot light does not stay lit


Or both. I very rarely clean non aerated pilot burners as the orifice is so tiny it can get distorted/damaged and then we get callbacks. They can warp also and get a distorted flame. A new Q314 and thermocouple is the best bet.
