Piggyback an oil furnace

I currently have a monster furnace which can use oil, wood or coal to heat our baseboard water rads. We use wood because the system(and the house) are not eifficent, to use oil. I happen to have a oil fired furnace. Is it possible to piggyback the oil onto the water system to use either the wood, or oil at my descretion? A shut off valve to each? And will the oil system need it's own expansion tank ?

Ayuh,.... Do you mean an oil Boiler,..??

A furnace heats air, a boiler heats water....

Yes, you can plumb in a boiler...
And, if the current expansion tank is big enough, no you won't need a 2nd 1...
