Payne Furnaces
I am in the process of buying a 5 unit apartment building. The furnaces in all five units have cracked heat exchangers and need to be replaced. The current owner has an estimate of $6,619 to replace the them with 5 Payne PG8M 44,000 BTU furnaces. He also has another estimate of $11,500 to replace them with either Trane XB80 or Maytag 80.
Other than knowing Payne is manufactured by Carrier, I have no idea of the quality and reliability. Does anyone have any knowledge of Payne furnaces. Is Trane or Maytag worth the extra $5,000 |
