Payne Equipment Reliable?

I currently have a Carrier condenser and furnace. The condenser is 18 years old and the furnace is 27 years old. My a/c has struggled this summer in the Texas heat to keep up and my last electric bill was the highest ever. I had someone come out and check my system and wants to sell me a complete Payne system. Anyone have experience with this brand I should be aware of prior to purchase?

Thanks.

Payne units are made by carrier,if you take the label off you could not tell the difference between the two. Both have 5 year compressor warranty.
