Partially finished Basement HVAC

I have a partially finished basement (400 sf Finished/300 sf unfinished). Currently there is just one vent off of the plenum in the unfinished side. I was thinking of extending and splitting that single vent between both sides and adding a cold air return to the finished side. The basement is entirely below grade, always cool in summer, but a little too cool in the winter. Is just one return and vent enough?

I would add a vent for each side, from the ducting, not from the plenum and add a return air for the finished side. Make sure you have dampers in the runs so you can isolate in the summer.

Add return air to keep things balanced.

Good Luck
