Packaged Heat Pump Question

In our building we have a packaged heat pump unit in the wall and it only seems to work on heat when we set the thermostat to a much higher temperature.

We could set it on mode cool at 74 and it would be fine, but if someone cares to have it warmer and bumps up the stat to 79. The heat never seems to kick in.

It is a relatively new (2 years) unit and is this just common operation or could there be something else going on?

Packaged Heat Pump Question

I would contact the company that installed it. With only 2 years old it should have warranty.
