Oxyquantum/ Kickstart

My Carrier unit is 6 months old. Just had service out for it's check up (clean, check pressures etc.) All is well.
Prior to leaving the service tech recommended I have 2 items installed. One is an Oxyquantum purifier which uses 2 UV bulbs which extend into the ductwork.

The other is a Kickstart.

He claims the Oxyquantum is a good thing to have in addition to filtration.
He further claims the Kickstart will prolong the life of my compressor.

I have researched both. Lights do not dim at startup and unit starts easily. Is the Kicikstart needed? If so looks like a simple DIY install. Not expensive if I buy on line and self install.

The Oxyquantum is very expensive! Actually I tried to find it online to see price and to see if I can DIY that as well. I cannot find it anywhere for purchase by homeowner.

Thoughts on these 2 items are welcome.

Are these just add ons that the service tech makes commission on or are they needed? If needed why not installed when unit was installed?

Oxyquantum/ Kickstart

Neither are needed. You likely have a tech on commission.

Good chance your Carrier has a Copeland scroll compressor and doesn't need a hard start.

You don't really need an Ozone generator installed in your duct work.

UV lights can be beneficial, but if you didn't need one with your old system, you don't need one with your new system.
