Outdoor Wood Furnace HELP!!!!

So I have an outdoor wood furnace that i just starting using last night. It wasn't fun but i am new to it. My question is should both circulator pumps be running constantly? I have two, one that keeps the existing boiler hot and the pump that runs from the outdoor furnace.

Are you running a water to water heat exchanger? What type of outside furnace and what is the aquastat set to temp wise?

If you have an aquastat on the wood heater that will control your draft to keep your water from the outide at a constant temp. Your circ. pump from the outside furnace should run all the time.

Sorry but I don't really know how your boiler system is set up, but I am sure someone will chime in.

Outdoor Wood Furnace HELP!!!!

Do you have an hydronic system with an existing boiler in your house? Or do you have a forced air system with a heat exchanger coil in the ductwork above or below the furnace?

Outdoor Wood Furnace HELP!!!!

I had a water furnace once and the pump only circulated the water when the thermostat called for heat. When the thermostat cut out the pump cut off and the fan ran until the limit switch cut it off.
