Outdoor compressor not turning on

Noticed that the AC wasn't keeping up with the setting on the thermostat so went outside and found the compressor wasn't running. Went back inside and checked the breaker and it didn't trip, so went back to outdoor disconnect at the compressor and measured voltage and was getting 230V at disconnect. Unit is getting power but not cutting on. Noticed a burnt smell around the compressor, and it's been running longer than normal due to high temps in area.

Anything else that I could check before calling HVAC contractor?

Thanks,
Michael

Outdoor compressor not turning on

Problem solved. Turned out to be bad capacitor. Replaced for $20 and back to staying cool.
