Hi, thanks for your time. I tried searching for "exhaust hood duct" and read thru the ~20 or so threads. I am attempting to install an OTR Microwave/Exhaust and had some questions about the ducting.
The OTR Microwave has a built in damper.
I have 2- 90 Elbows and the semi rigid ducting show in the pictures (7" diameter). I also have a 3.25"x 10" to 7" adapter.
There is a wooden beam about 1" from the duct if it comes straight down from the roof vent, and I am worried that the exhausting air might pose a fire hazard. 1. Will this be a hazard if I install the ducting as I had planned?
2. If it is a hazard, how should the ducting be run instead?
i am no pro. but it looks to me, that if that vent gets hot enough to be a fire hazard = that vent is the least of your problems. that vent, when in typical use, will not get hot enough that you couldn't touch it.
