Only furnace supply vent in basement?

Hey new DIY'er here. Well Ive done all sorts of various projects but nothing furnace related... I have a Furnace in the basement (Obviously) and the only supply vent seems to be in the basement. It's a small bungalo. Wondering if i should attach a vent upstairs if its not safe to have a furnace sucking basement air?

Any help would be greatly appreciated folks

Never seen a set up like that.

"...the only supply vent seems to be in the basement"
So, the only hot air for the whole house is delivered only to the basement? Or:
There is a supply in the basement but no return vent?

What's wrong with that? Warm up the furnace, open the basement door..heat rises..one of the laws of physics:whistling2:

Sorry folks. there are heat vents upstairs and in the basement. But the only air intake is in the basement. is this a problem? does intake supply vent have to be connected to the first floor???

Yes, there should be intake (supply) vents in the living space to aid in air circulation and proper conditioning (heating or cooling as per the season).

you're calling a cold air return a supply ....definitely not right.
