old oil furnace


Hi everybody, I have an old oil fired furnace, It will click at the thermastat
but not light or fan blower does not come on. Filter is clean but alot of soot around flue damper. help me

Did you run out of oil.
Did you check:
The nozzle.
The electrodes.
The transformer.
The oil filter.

Push reset button once, see if it lights.

FOR ALL CONCERNED: DO NOT press the red reset button more than once. It may dump lots of raw oil into the combustion chamber and flood it which can result in a major fire if it later ignites! Had a couple customers lie to me about how many times they did that. Had to get the fire dept down for one "incident". Don't lie to your tech either.

Thanks, I will try the reset button ( once ) if it does not work then I will call
furnace repair.
