Oil Safety Valve - Snap noise while opening

I heard a snap noise when opening the oil safety valve at the bottom of the oil tank. Oil still flows to the furnace but the stem spins when turning the knob.
I think I need a new valve. It may be easier if I has someone change the "guts" of the current valve. Does anyone recognize the manufacturer or know where I can get one. See photo. The long stem measures 3 inches long. The threaded part in the tank is 3/4 inch diameter. I assume valve is original from year 1992.
Thanks.
