Oil burner rumbles on stut down.

Ok this oil burner I am working on has about a one second rumble when it shuts off. When I first was called it was trying to explode when it ignited. No brainer ( bad check valve), I put a new pump on it, no more blow back. I put in a new nozzel, and tank filter. Combustion checks close, I will fine tune it when I figure out what is causing the rumble. When I pull the drawer assembly, the nozzle, and the flame retention ring have a little bit of oil on them. What could be causing the oil. I put in the same size, and angle nozzle (1 gal/80 deg.) I think it has the wrong angle nozzle in it, or the wrong retention ring. Anyone got any ideas. Should I try a 90 deg angle on the nozzle. OOPS! its a hot air furnace with a Carlin burner mdl# 100CRD.

provide the model of boiler and the burner model, i should have a book for the correct nozzle-
do not go with a 90 deg, that will be wider and more impingment-

**check for a cracked nozzle adaptor too-
