Is this a normal installation?

We purchased a manufactured house (used) in March of this year. To say it turned out to be a nightmare would be an understatement. We are currently involved in litigation against the seller for failure to disclose about 15 items that were present. We are asking for our down payment and closing costs to be refunded. They basically patched up so someone would buy it, and then, Oh Boy was hell ever gonna break loose soon. One defect of this home was the A/C didn't cool the house hardly at all. Upon further investigation we looked under the house and the ducts didn't look like any I've seen before. Also, underneath the house it was cold, not cool, cold so air was probably leaking under the house. We also had condensation inside our fireplace. I will include a pic or two and maybe someone can verify our opinion that the installation was done improperly. Thanks so much, kel

If you need more pics just tell me and I'll get them ASAP, the rest of the ductwork looks pretty much the same, all twisted and just lying anywhere.

if you need to contact me, please do so via email at and then I will give you my telephone number, I just don't want to post on a forum.

Did you get the home inspected before you bought it?

It is difficult to provide an objective opinion on that flex duct without seeing more, but I have seen it winding its way in all directions around attics, and spliced in many ways. Whether that should have been disclosed is probably best left to someone who can do an onsite inspection.

As for the condensation inside your fireplace thats unacceptable IMHO. Someone needs to find the cause for that and fix it.
