Is it normal for a compressor to go BANG when it stops?

I have a 12,000 BTU portable unit and I noticed when the compressor stops, it makes a loud bang sound and the machine shakes. Is this normal or should I be worried? Makes me jump every single time LOL.

Make a video of it with sound on You-tube so we can hear it. Scroll compressors can be noisy and bang when they shut down. Not sure if they use them in those units.

Oh sure now that I'm recording it's not doing it lol, it does have a bit of a bang, but not as loud. Maybe it's when it's been running longer. Not sure if it's screw or scroll compressor. I'm thinking it's normal, but I'll try to see if I can get it on video or audio next time.
