Nordyne system

How do i find the year of the nordyne heat pump system if i only have model #-GQ3RC-036k?
Also what are some issues these have been known to have?
Any info is appreciated.

you need the serial #. or if you open the electrical box cover inside the unit with the power off and look at some of the parts most of them will have a 4 digit date code or sticker. may need a manifying glass. ie 0690 = 6 month of 1990 or 1693 = 16th week of 1993. 95% of the time I can find a date code.

get it regularly serviced, freon level checked etc and it is no different than any other brand.

Thanks for the reply but I am not with the unit and was hoping the model# could link me to when they were made.
Maybe the company could help with year it was made/ and when they quit making that model(GQ3RC) .

Thats a 12 SEER packaged heat pump. Pre 2006, probably pre 2002. Serial number would be needed to know what year for sure.

Those units are pretty stout. Like yuri says, maintenance, charge checked etc. As long as the unit was installed properly, no reason why it shouldnt give a good 15+ years of service.
