noisy furnace

our furnace makes a "fog horn" sound it's quite loud It starts making the noise before the blower comes on

wow.....thats tough, but it could be the regulator at the meter or the regulator in the gas valve

Age/model & brand of furnace would help. Extra bonus points for pictures.

If your furnace is older (30 yrs +) then thats almost always a gas / air shutter on the venturi opening of a burner that's too open.

If its younger than that then we need to know that your reference to the blower really means the main fan blower and not the inducer motor assy.

See if you can tell if the noice is coming from the burner area or the blower fan compartment.

Just shortly before the blower comes on. or just after the burners light?
