Noisy ductwork

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
Please help me! The noise from my bedroom heating duct is driving me crazy at night. As soon as the furnace starts up the duct starts clicking, and when the furnace shuts down the clicking continues for about 45 mins after. I think I've narrowed it down to where the clicking may be originating but I have no clue what to do with it.

I have added a picture of where I think the clicking is coming from. Can someone help me get rid of this noise so I can get a good nights sleep again?

You may have a damper in there that's squeaking. Look for a metal handle somewhere on the duct about the size of a popsickle stick.

Are the metal heat ducts rubbing together as that expand and contract?

I haven't tried adjusting the damper handle yet. I will try that.

But it seems that what redline suggested is whats happening to me. The ducts are rubbing as they expand and contract.

Either slightly move then apart or place insulation material between them.

I don't think I can move them apart as they are to close to the concrete wall. As for the insulation sugestion, is there a certain type of insulation I should use? And when you say "between them" does that mean to seperate the ducts and put the insulation around them where they join back together?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but I have no clue with ductwork.

Nope,.......
Just Stuff some insulation, Any insulation between anywhere the ducts are contacting Anything,.....
Just so they'll rub on the insulation,+ Not whatever is making the Noise.......
