Noise when A/C cycles on

Raylo, one thing I found out, the DAP foam in a can, which is water based, actually reacts with Copper, where as Big Stuff does not. We had thought that with the DAP being more flexible, it would work better, but in turn, it started to cause corrosion within a day, so had to clean it off as best as we could, and then use Big Stuff.

I found just moving a couple of brackets, and moving the lineset in one spot, quieted down mine a lot, so that I did not hear as much harmonic, when the R-22 was flowing.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

Noise when A/C cycles on

We purchased the home towards the end of last year. The house was built in the mid 90's. The AC unit could be original to the house.

I will check the lined at the ext wall.

Thanks for the input.

Mine made a very loud "brrrr" noise at startup and I just oiled the motor on the compressor outside: problem solved.

Are you talking about the condensor fan motor?
