No Temperature Change

It seems like my furnace is coming on even when it is at the temperature is where it is supposed to be. For example, if I set my thermostat for 68, the heater will kick on even though the temp hasn't dropped to 67. Could my thermostat be bad?

Hi rightsidedown

It sounds like your thermostat is digital and doing exactly what it was told to do. If you go into the software in the thermostat you should be able to set your deadband or otherwise know as temperature differential. Most digital thermostats come from the factory set at 1 deg. deadband, offset or temperature differential. Hope this helps.

Good luck

Thanks Carrierman for your help. Let me make sure I understand what you are saying...digital thermostats are designed not to go off the set temperature? Or will it go to 67 then turn on the heat?

Digital thermostats are very precise and if your furnace is sized correctly it will not go off the set temperature. This is good.
