No power to circulating pump on boiler.

I have heat upstairs but not downstairs. I was able to determine that the cartridge circulating pump isnt getting power from the furnace. When I disconnected the pump from the furnace and applied power from a separate power source. The pump ran fine and circulated hot water through the registers. Im assuming there is a switch that supplies power to the pump. The pump is wired to 2 screw terminals that are on a small circuit board inside a small metal box labeled Honeywell. How can I find the mechanism that supplies power to the pump?

Thanks in advance.

You did. Post pics of it (circuit board thingy) and the boiler and make and model # and we may be able to help.

The name and number of the controller my circulating pump is connected to:
Honeywell Aquastat relay type L8148E. Mine is vertically mounted. You can see a pic if it here at this link:

Ayuh,... A little Well McClain boiler I just put in my rental house has the same controller, the horizonal mount...

If you don't have Power at C1, 'n C2, then you need a new 1...

They're not a servicable item for diy'ers, or even Burner Techs for that matter...

I checked for current across C1 and C2 while the furnace was on. There was no current.

No power to circulating pump on boiler.

your board in the the honeywell box is called an aquastat, sounds like the relay on the board that controls power to the circ pump is bad, you need a new aquastat
