Thanks for a heads up, I am not an expert on the fuel oil systems. I have been fighting this for a while. I am working on a Duomatic Olsen Fuel Oil furnace. The oil in the tank ran out, refilled the tank, drained the sludge out of the lines, replace the filter and got oil going back into the oil pump (clear flow when disconnected from the pump), tried to bleed the pump and after several minutes no more foam, but just drips of fuel. I also checked at the outlet of the fuel pump, nothing at all. Fuel pump was functioning well before being run out, system was completely operational. Any ideas before I start disassembling the oil pump? Is there an inlet metal screen or filter (it is a Suntec A2VA-7116 pump)? Next steps. Thanks in advance.
Before you take the pump apart make sure you get a new gasket and a new screen.Thats probably all it needs.
Just thought a new nozzle too.and since you are taking the pump apart make sure you have a gauge to reset the pressure. Some furnaces now use 140 pounds instead of 100 pounds. Not sure about your furnace.
