no heat for me

Hi Doc. I tried to tighten up one of the lugs for a spade connection and it just broke off and fell away. I soldered on all new ones, as I figured I got the first Chinese lot on my furnace. We have reached the level of acceptance where manufactured parts do not even serve the purpose for which they are intended. Quality Control? A Joke.

It absolutely amazes me that even spade lugs can be made like crap today. Where will it end?

what ? insulate them ? can you explain this ? i use white grease on 12v terminals all the time. and never have a problem after doing so.

oh, wait. now i understand. no, i would never grease the contacts (i used the wrong word). i meant connections = terminals. and i do not use a lot of grease, just a thin layer. whatever coating they use on these terminals, is designed to go bad after a while. seen it a lot of times.
