no heat in base board

I just convert my old cast iron radiator to a base board heater, I turned on the heat to check for leaks now i am not getting any hot water up to the heater. All of the other heaters are getting heat except the new heater. Any help would be great?

Did you purge it? there should be a valve on it to release the trapped air

you don't need to turn it on for leak checks just let the pressure reg feed the 12psi in and the check it and as suggested bleed from the highest point...

Yes..you have to bleed the air from the new rad. Should be vent screw at top and end end of rad. Loosen/open it. You will hear air coming out. Shut off once water starts coming out and no signs of air, i.e., hold bucket or plastic container under /over bleed screwuntil water runs out without any more air sounds, then shut off valve and you should have circulation/heat.

Make sure the system water is cooled off before doing this.

what's your boiler pressure?

takes 10 pounds just to get to the second floor.

you may have to raise the pressure up to 15-20 so you can bleed it then drop it back down.

i used to have to raise the pressure up to 25lbs so one of my customers could bleed the radiators on the 3rd floor then i would drop it back down.

you have 2 threads for the same thing
