No Heat

I have an arcoair (LP) model# n8mpn100f14a1. When I turn the heat on the flame comes on for a few seconds then goes out. How can I remedy this?

Not having anymore info than what you gave is going to make it tough to diagnose right now.
My inclination is from what you have said though is that the flame sensor may need cleaning.
Can you provide more info on this unit as their web site does not have a search function to look up that model #

The units fan was tuning on and off at random about a week ago, then stopped. when I turned the heat on we got nothing. I called out a tech and he said he thought the control board was bad. sense then I have pulled the flame sensor and attempted to clean it with emory cloth. i have gotten it to run for a couple minutes but it doesn't try to re start un less I shut the power off then turn it back on.

Did the tech replace the control board? If the flames come on for a couple minutes but no blower then it has to be a blower control or blower motor.

He did not. The quote was $600 and was simply too much at this time. Besides i didn't have a good feeling about this guy.
A couple times that it did start up it was on long enough for the blower moter to start. then it would shut down.

I cleaned the sensor, and the tech said that all the wiring was good.
Also , watching the tech, when I jump the tstat on the board was when I got a response. But still short. I just put a new tstat on and no response.

control board could control blower through a timer relay....which in turn will trip high limit if blower don't come on...... tech could be right... bad board..

On the board, terminals are on the right. From the bottom , the first one and the third one. Same as tech did..
Nothing with new stat. Even on 80
