No 24volts at the condenser or thermostat.

Trane 2TEE3F49A1000AA Variable air handler

Open up the air handler and found one of the breaker is off, the 2 wired from this breaker connected to heat is burn out because it's short. I just pull this 2 wired off and will replace it later.

The transformer go through controller board. How do I check for the 24volts?

You need multimeter. You need to have 24V at thermostat, controller board and contactor in the condenser.

Thanks for the reply, This variable air handler is kind of throw me off. There is no 24v from condenser, thermostat, and controller board. I track it all the way to controller board at air handler, the most I can get is like 4v to 5v.

I can hear a click at condenser when ac is turn on at thermostat, but the contacter at condenser doesn't suck in. I hope the controller board is not getting bad. Only the fan at the air handler is running now.

If I push in the contactor at condenser, it will run.

-you need to do a continuity test on wires. Also you need to test transformer

Do you have 240 volts to that transformer or not with that wire removed? An air handler transformer does not work with only one hot leg. Call for help if you don't have a meter and know how to test safely. No sence getting killed over a few dollars.

Thanks for all the help, it does have 240v comming out of transformer.

It turn out to be some thief cutting into the copper line trying to steal condenser unit but didn't make it. Got it fix now.
