New Yorker boiler parts

Hello,

I am looking to service the hot water heat exhanger on my unit. I believe the unit needs to be removed and bathed in a acid solution. I have low pressure on the hot water side through out the whole house. Where would one go about purchasing the gasket and acid for this repair?

John

Ayuh,... Probably yer local Sid Harvey, or whatever commercial hvac suppliers there are in yer area...

If they'll sell anything to ya,....
Some of 'em are kinda funny like that...

btw,... Ya don't need to pull the exchanger to bathe the inner coil,...
Just unhook the pipes, blow it out, 'n fill it with yer solution...

Ya got Hard water, eh,..??

Ok thanks.

I am a GC and the local place does sell to me. My plumber is busy which is why I am doing it myself. Just wanted to double check before I decided to get frisky...

I have a softner system on the home. Not sure how good it works though. I just bought this place a few months ago and nothing has been done since 2000. I had the boiler cleaned and serviced first thing.
