New thermostat/ humidifier

I recently replaced my AC myself (condenser unit, coil, lineset only) and wanted to update and replace some of my other 15 years old equipment. I have a weathermaker 8000 Two Speed, forced air gas furnace. Its rated at 80,000btu output on high. My thermostat is a honeywell but not sure of the specifics. I do know that it is inaccurate at reading the room temperature. For instance it says the temp is 70*F when my 100 dollars weather temp gauge (that i believe would be far more accurate) says its 67.8*F. but to the point.. ive been reading about an automatic humidifer that i would prefer over my manual one. Its annoying to have to constantly change the setting throught the heating season. I read about the infinity control thermostat from carrier and figured it might be a good investment along with a new humidifier. Just wanted to know if this thermostat would work correctly with my furnace and humidifier. Current humidifer is carrier model-49BF018120. Thanks!

Need an Infinty furnace.

Carrier has other stats that will work with your furnace, and humidifier.

New thermostat/ humidifier

okay i figured i needed an infinity system. its the only way for it to make sense. What type of thermostats would currently work with a two speed furnace?

Any 2 stage thermostat will work with non Infinity furnace.
Honeywell has several models that will work fine.

I only have a single stage thermostat now. Is that a problem. Am I going to have any advantages with a new 2 stage thermostat?

With a single stage stat. The furnacces board will have to use its timer to go to second stage.
That makes it jump to second stage when its not needed. And also make you wait for the time period when you want it to reover, if you use set back.
Defeats much of the reason for a 2 stage.

A 2 stage stat will keep it in first stage longer. Providing more comfort. And if you use set back, it will go to second stage quicker, for faster recovery.

Okay so pretty much I could be wasting energy without the proper equipment setup. I will look into getting that new thermostat and hopefully I will save some money
