New thermostat for heat


I think the house is wired wrong how do i tell which wires on the unit matches the wires on the thermostat

New thermostat for heat


If you think there's splices and color changes the only sure way to tell is disconnect the wires at each end then tie two together and check for continuity.

New thermostat for heat


Go look at the circuit board or where the wires are connected in the furnace, then compare colors & terminals on the thermostat.
