Network or usb temp sensor

I go away for days at a time fairly often, and with an old boiler, it'd be nice to get some sort of warning if my house gets below...say 50 degrees F.

Could anyone recommend either a USB or network attached (preferred) temperature sensor that could send me an email/sms if a low limit is reached? I assume things like this are used in server rooms all the time, but I am looking to spend as little as possible.

I prefer a network attached device, since it would not need to rely on my PC being on, but I am sure that is more expensive than a USB type (assuming that exists).

Any ideas? Thanks.

I am actually looking at a product by bayweb (bayweb.com). I am looking at it for programming and control, but it does have alert features which may work for you.

Find an older model Netbotz on ebay. If you do a search for completed listings, you can figure out which models either dont sell or sell the cheapest.
