Need your help - Thermostat
I have an old dial honeywell thermostat. I bought a LUX TX9000TS .

In the old thermostat their are 4 wires:

Green wire goes to G
White wire goes to W
Red Wire goes to R
Blue wire goes to Y

The new thermostat (LUX) here are the wiring diagrams

W Y G B O RC RH C

2 Questions:
1.Where would the Blue wire go? I'm told mixed answers..some say I don't need the Blue wire because the new thermostat works with battery,
others have said copy what what was done before. ...meaning Blue wire in Y of the new thermostat

2Also the old thermostat just said RED wire into R
Where would the Red wire go in the new one RC or RH?

I have a furnace and air condition.

you will need a short u shaped wire you can cut a small paper clip this will be your jumper wire this will conect the red wire to rc and rh the blue wire will need to go back to y hook the rest of the wires up the same way they were on your old tstat if you need a common wire you will have to open up your furnace and see if theres a extra wire but if you have a battery type t stat you shold be fine with out the common wire

Most t/stats come with a jumper wire for the connection between RH & RC, some use jumper tabs like a computer board does. Check the instructions. IMO I wouldn't use a piece of a paper clip if it's not insulated...you never know, you might short something out...probably not, but you never know.

Just some additional info. Blue wire will probably turn on your condenser unit outside attach that to Y. R in your case has to go to both Rc and Rh since you will be requesting both heat and cool...cut a small piece off the red wire, strip the ends and use it as a jumper.
