Need Some Start up help.

Ok so I started the furnace up. It had to go through fire sequence twice which is acceptable i would say for first time. the concerns i have are these.

1) my blower (in factory settings) will not turn on when i call for it on the Tstat.
The connections are as follows.
Tstat - Furnace - Wire Color
R-Rc (jmprd) - R - Red
Y - Y/Y2 - Yel
C - C - Blu
W - W - Wht
G - G - GRN
W2 - W2 - Org

2) Is it pretty normal to get smoke out the registers? It wasn't like a elect or component smell and everything looks normal. Thinking it was residual stuff on the heat exchanger but it was a tad unnerving to say the least.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

Fixed the blower. Check all the connectors and wires. Found that the power to the blower connector wasn't pushed in and secured all the way.

Cool. Yes, on a brand spanking new furnace there's usually a smell from the residual oils used when building the heat exchangers that burns completely off after a few heat cycles.

I think it's oil at least.

Lot's of people notice that right off the bat.

if you have dust on the fan squirrel fins there is residue on the heat ex then from the summer and slight burn off is normal keep in ming the heating runs LO to LO MED speeds and the ac is always HI and the heating call comes from the furnace not the stat heat setting unless you hit the FAN/ON as you did for HI speed
