I need a new evaporator coil for my york 4 ton all electric a/c. Any ideas where i can purchase a decent one at a good price? Mine has a very small leak, about 1 pound a year.
Sometimes what you may pay for a coil replacement, it's cheaper to get a new air handler. Also installing a coil DIY requires alot of equipment and knowledge. Call around and see how much can you get a replacement air handler. Also make sure it matches up properly with your outside unit. Post your model numbers and see what the pro's can advice and match up for you. Also can't your old coil be patched up? What your contractor told you?
Are you sure its actually the coil leaking and not just something simple like a shrader valve or mechanical fitting on expansion device?
Lots of people like to overlook simple things and go right to bigger money makers.
