Need high humidity (60%+) for Yoga Studio

Located in Chicago 1800 sq ft space with brick and drywall. Currently using truesteam Honeywell 12 gal. And it barely breaks 30%. I need people to feel the humidity hit them as they walk in so sweat drips off their forehead. Need to reach 60% within hr of turning on. Any rec for serious humidifier?

At 70 degrees a 60% humidity has a dew point of 55 degrees. That means anytime it's 55 or lower outside your walls are going to condense moisture in the insulation and grow mold. Sure that's what you want?

If you get any mold spores on the walls etc you will have one VERY unhealthy clientele and the Health Dept all over you and may not be in biz very long.

On the other hand you can hire a small child very reasonably to sit by the front door and use a garden hose on them as they enter your shop.
The kid will have the best job ever and your clients will be soaked to the skin.

Well, an Aprilaire 800 might get you there. Can put .95 pounds of moisture into the air an hour. that little Truesteam can only do .5 pounds an hour.

Probably easier to just raise the temp to 78 or 80, and make them sweat from heat.

I thought yoga was supposed to be a slow non aerobic non sweaty peaceful harmonious type of exercise. Like tree huggin or meditatin. If you want sweat then go to the spa.

From what I hear Chicago can be a very cold and windy city like where I am. The odds of getting even 40% humidity are very slim in a really cold climate. 30-35% is great where I am and I suspect that may be true where our poster is. At 40% all our windows sweat and mold forms so 30-35% is where I keep mine at.

Actually one of the guys at work was talking about it. His mother is an instructor and he was going to go. I suspect to check out the female participants more than anything else.
