Need help with a thermostat install


OK we just moved in and the cooling worked fine. Now we went to turn the heat on and nothing. Everything worked when we looked at the place but had them change the thermostat. It was some old junker. Nordyne E2EB-012ha electric Goodman CPLE36-1c heat pump Hunter Thermostat Nothing is marked I have the nordyne open so I can check wires. Could someone please help it's 60 in here today.

Need help with a thermostat install


Follow the instructions that came with the thermostat: identify the letter/number of the terminal in the old thermostat and align that with recommendations from owner's manual for the new ones. Wire color is not always reliable.

I do not change it, and have no idea what was where. At the thermostat i have Red RC RH jumped Yellow Y1 White W2 Orange C blue O Brown E Now at the furnace blue is not connected to anything.

Look in the outdoor unit. And see if the orange wire is connected to the O terminal out there. if so. guess where it belongs connected on you thermostat.

Good chance. You need the Blue connected to C on the stat, and C in the indoor unit.
