I have never seen an electric plenum heater. I've seen blower sections with electric motors, I've seen fan coils and blowers with coils, i have seen plenums with duct liner, or duct rap. The liner didn't burn I know nothing about the rap. Sorry about the limited knowledge..... j

this is a lennox pulse 21 80,000 btu furnace with a a-coli for air cond installed i am installing an electric plenum heater to have duel fuel heat sorce the electric heater sits on top of the a coil just wondering if the insulation inside the plenum will cause a problem

It could.

Does your heater set up include a sail/air switch that must prove air flow before bring on the strip hreaters.

How much clearance are you going to have between the top of the A coil and the bottom of the strip heater.
If not enough, the strip section at the center of the A coil will over heat, and break from heat stress.

What are your gas and electric rates, all taxes, and delivery fee's included.

You must have very high gas rates, or extremely cheap electric, to make resistance heat cheaper then gas.

we live in the country and the propane is our heat source and it is now at 2.50 gal electric is much cheaper at .5 per kilowatt there this heater is designed to be installe above the a-coil ther is aprox 5" clearance do you think that the black insulation is a problem inside the plenum or should it be removed. if your curioues about plenum heaters go to.www.electromn.com this system is set up as duel fuel so the plenum heater works just like the gas section but switches when no electric it uses gas

As long as it has operating limits, the insulation is not a problem.

5 cents is teh deliver electric rate?
All taxes and transmission fee's included?

If so, You should use a heat pump with electric aux for heat.
