Need Help With Condenser Motor Install

Hello Everyone,

Our condenser fan motor died recently and I've ordered a replacement motor but unsure how to do the wiring. The motor that died has three wires where as the new one has four wires. I have a wiring diagram that shows how to wire it for a three wire setup but still clueless as to how to wire them at the connecting points in the diagram.

Here is the diagram:

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Need Help With Condenser Motor Install

Thanks for the clarification!

Something I forgot to mention was that our AC system uses a dual round capacitor. I tried connecting the wires to the same locations as the old motor:

brown wire -> fan connector on capacitor
orange wire -> common connector on capacitor
black wire -> contactor
yellow wire -> purple wire

Motor didn't turn on at all. Hope I didn't fry it.

You will probably need separate capacitor if this is an multi horsepower replacement 3uf at 370v if incoming volts 240 7.5 if volts are 208

The motor you ordered needs to be able to have a reasonably long service lifetime in an ambient temp. as high as 130F. The nameplate will have the temp. spec's.
