Need advice on a Thermostat

I am looking for a better programmable thermostat. I currently have a lux 20 dollar model. I have seen a few with the outdoor reset and was wondering these models are worth their price. Also, are there any models that have dual sensors (indoor) that I could place a remote sensor in another part of the house that would call heat? I have a single zone mono-flow and splitting the zone is a quit expensive. (I would get a few TRVs installed to balance the system) Thanks

Thermostats don't really have outdoor reset.
Some can use an outdoor stat to lock out aux, and heat pumps.
Several can use a remote stat, to control heating and cooling.

Depends what all you want it to do, as far as if its worth it or not.

Unless you have an HVAC unit that can use the capabilities of an energy efficient thermostat you are better off staying where you are.

The only exception to that would be a 7 day 4 event programmable one that will allow you to program for each day of the week. That being said if you work regular hours on Mon-Fri then even these will to little for your energy consumption. In this case a 4 event 5-2 would do where you could program the work week to lower the temperature of your system when you are gone.

Having the remote sensor will only give you information and is not a replacement for a zone system.
