Need advice in Las Vegas, NV

Hi all,

I am new here and am a homeowner in Las Vegas. I have two split systems 3.5 tons each. The air conditioners are outside and the gas furnaces are in the attic.

I am shopping for a new system as these are 12 years old and inefficient, recently rated at less than 8 seer each.

I am wondering if any brand inparticular is better suited to our hot dry climate. I have heard that Amana is a good desert unit and that Trane is better suited to colder, wetter climates like the Northeast. But of course that all may be a bunch of bull, so I would appreciate some unbiased opinions from the resident experts.

thanks in advance,
chris

Its Bull. Brand doesn't matter. They all heat and cool using the same principles.
