My water id turnes off

The home is empty and we had a problem with one of the pipes so we had the water turned off. Well now the cold weather is here and the oil furnace is running there is water in the system, but I'm wondering if this is ok or not ?

I will be thankfull for any advice, Thanks in advance.

Could you be a little more specific? I am not sure if you are saying you have a problem with the boiler or not.

The heating system is fine, I'm wondering if its ok to run the heat with the water shut off.

There is water in the heating system ,but will it last ? or will it evaporate and damage the heating unit ?

Verify there is at least 12 psi on the pressure gauge. The system normally should not leak any water. Then shut the valve before the water feeder if there is one. The water feeder has a check valve built in but i have seen many fail.
After doing the above check the home often to verify the heat is still working. The amount of water in the system will not affect the operation. If it has a problem with leaks the water may get out and the unit will continue to run and damage the boiler unless there is a LWCO installed. I am fairly sure you do not have one of them.

What about the air separator? Isn't there a a problem of losing volume efrom it?

Make up water is, I don't think, is safe to shut off. I don't specialize in it but if I remember my code right it is supposed to stay open.

N0?
