my gas heatpump wont work

i have a carrier gas heat pump and it was working fine until we turned the gas off and fixed a hole in the line, the line is repaired and my stove which is also gas works fine now my heat pump wont work it runs but no heat do i need to do something where it was shut off or it being a self lighter should it light itself?

Was the gas line to the furnace purged.

Hi, the unit may have locked out on the circuit board if unit is equipped with this feature as beenthere said purge gas line free of air first . once done reset unit and see what happens .
