My G26 Lennox furnace tries to start for about 5 seconds then shuts down

The furnance doesn't even try to ignite. The blower kicks on for about five seconds then shuts down right away. I dried out the manifold. I'm not getting any failure indications for the controller.

ensure you have a continuous 24V between W and C at the control board during a call for heat. Could possibly be a stat issue. Or a board issue.

Do you have a drip leg on the gas line just before it enters the furnace? There is debris in the gas lines feeding the burners so that can clog the gas valve in the furnace by not allowing gas or the correct amount of gas into the burners. That scenario would resemble low gas pessure or it could be no gas pressure if completely clogged. If no gas to produce flames is present than your blower will immedately shut off as the flame sensor isn't detecting flames like it should thus it will cut the blower off as it has no business being on if there are no flames in heating mode. Makes sense, huh?

Just thinking aloud of the possibilities, especially without any code. The no flash code could be the board itself, as already stated by tech126, but if the control call for heat drops out there would be flash code, again, if the board is working properly.

Have you paid your gas bill?

there would be no flash code if you are losing a call for heat from the stat

I have a fully functioning Carrier gas furnace that I use for troublehsooting (and for playing around to scare my dog and cat ) sitting directly in front of me in my living room that states if the call for heating drops out than the flash code is 11, on short and one lang flash.

I just figured it would be the same for all brands..?

maybe you should post when you know the answer for sure...... Code 12 refers to a carrier/payne/bryant ONLY!

not meaning to come off as a jerk, but lets give the people with problems good solutions not theory based on sparse experience.

Welcome to the forum, hawkeye2011!

Hopefully you will get the problem solved soon! Anymore pertinent information that would be relevant to solving this, guys?

I agree with hvactech126... board or stat problems because of the clear led display. Remove the thermostat connections (R & W) on the furnace and jumper (R & W) to bypass the thermostat. If the furnace fires up you know its a stat or thermostat wire problem. If the furnace doesn't fire up then it will require at the very least, board repairs (unlikely) or more likely replacement of the board.
