moving HVAC system - can I go without gas for a few days?
I'm having my HVAC and HWH moved in prep for a basement finishing. Both are gas.
The HVAC guy can't complete his work without the gas line run - but the plumber will do that. The plumber can't complete his work until the exhaust line is run from the HVAC as the HWH will tap into it.
So I don't know in what order I can make this happen.
I was thinking maybe the HVAC guy doesn't need the gas. It's warm enough now where I don't need heat. So he could just do all his work and run the exhaust. Then the plumber could do his thing but also hook up the HVAC to the gas, even though that might not normally be his job?
My fear is that if the HVAC guys leaves (or "is done") before he knows the furnace and gas to HVAC is working...I mean, maybe he'd want to test the exhaust for leaks, etc. - but wouldn't be able to do that without a working system.
Talk to your plumber and hvac tech, as they are the ones doing the work and know the full scope of what needs to be done. We could ask you a hundred questions and still not get the full picture as accurately as the pro who actually gets to see it first hand.
