Mouse odor in furnace?

One of my vents smells like a dead mouse but my wife says mouse urine. Hard to get to 8' run, lots of other lines under it. Nothing found in furnace. What to do?

check all vent lines best you can ,remove supply air vent get a dollar store mirror that will fit into duct and use this method to check these pipes you may need a flashlight to , yull need to gain acess to main trunk line and look see , some rentall places have cameras to fish into lines ,if trunk not accessable check inside main duct (plenum) comming off furnace and in between heat exchanger , shud you not find anything in ducts id start there, if only in the one line might be eaiser find

A forced air heating system is a natural dehydrator. Unless you have a source of water into a duct, a dead mouse will be be bone dry and pretty scentless in a week. (A rat in twice that length of time). Mouse pee is only likely as a smell if there is continuous mouse travel in that duct. (Mice just dribble as they run)
A UV light shows up mouse urine and thats what pestcontrol folks use to find out where mice are traveling.

I hate when that happens !!

Trust me you will know the difference. Mouse pee is gross. Dead mouse is overwhelming gross and it will fill the whole house, but the good news is that your house will only be overwhelmingly and intensely disgusting for a few weeks:yes:

I was at us air last week and I saw this deodorizer cream you pit in your ducts. It smelled bomb like clean laundry. Check it out
