Mini Splits - Always On & Auto vs. Cool function
For ya'll minisplit gurus, couple of questions.
Is a minisplit either *on or off* - meaning it does not cycle whenever it is on. I have a Inverter driven Mitsubishi FE and GZ series. For example, if I set it at 78F on cooling mode and auto fan, the fan is constant and never *stops*.

Not quite sure why the behavior is as such as well, but if I put the minisplit on *AUTO* temp mode and set the temp to 75F for example, it does not RAMP up the fan as high as if I set it to COOL mode with AUTO Fan.

I would assume the *auto* mode just switches between Cooling vs. Heat, but it seems to be less *powerful* on initial operation that if I just switch to Cool with Auto Fan.

Thoughts, advice, suggestions.

I've got two mini-split heat pumps, both Friedrich units. They both keep the fan going on at least the low speed when they are in cooling mode. When they switch to heating mode, the fan will go down to super quiet speed (very low), but the fan never goes off entirely.

Other manufacturers may do thing differently. I understand the reason for keeping the fan going while in cooling mode is to prevent the indoor coil from staying wet with condensation.

Any other Hvac gurus familiar with the Mr. Slim and the ~auto~ function vs. if I choose dedicated cooling / heating....
