mini split choices give splitting headache!!

Hi to all, I am thinking of having a mini split installed since I cant install one myself or even buy one online without voiding the warranty,if I understand correctly? Living in Idaho the temps are often in the teens or less.My space is 800 sq. ft. with probably a little more glass than average an pretty good insulation.I do have electric baseboards for back-up. My small town dealer is offering me a fujitsu aou24rlwfw. I am a little worried about some of the reviews I have read about them not doing well under 20 degrees. My dealer also sells Mitsubishi but says their not worth the price difference. My nearest Daikin dealer is 70 mi. away. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

SO you're looking for a heat pump mini split? When it comes to comfort and reliability I'd be doing what you're doing, reading all reviews and judging from there. 70 miles for better equipment (if indeed the reviews state it better) isn't a big deal. I drive that far just to fill up my diesel truck.

You'll thank yourself when it's 10 degrees outside and 75 inside.

Its not that 70 miles is that far(in the summer anyway) I just figure that will really add to the install price and later on the service calls could get spendy.Everything breaks, its just a matter of time

No heat pump works that well below 20 deg. It's the nature of the beast.
Once it get that cold the back up heat kicks in.

No room for a full residential hvac system? Attic or basement? I don't think any heat pump will be able to fully handle those types of conditions on it's own.

I could but we don't get that type of cold in Houston and it's a heat pump you want, right? LG, Mitsubishi and Samsung would the brands I'd choose from.

Just like with regular residential hvac system manufacturers, brand is not important, install is.

I spent a winter in Idaho... saw temps down to -35. I can't imagine a heat pump being any use there.
