Mini-Split Air Handler and Caulk?

I just had a new Mitsubishi mini-split air handler installed. Unfortunately, there's a 1/8-1/4" gap on both sides of the system. Is there any reason why I shouldn't caulk that gap with removable caulk?

Can you post a picture?
If it's the gap I'm thinking of it's suppose to be there. The inside unit is just hanging on a metal bracket that holds it slightly away from the wall.

Yes, that's the gap I'm referring to. I'm probably making too big of a deal about it.
